snippet: These data were compiled by the Ember Alliance for the Jefferson County Colorado Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) 2024 Update. They are current as of the plan update. This dataset represents the aggregated Forest-level Potential Operational Delineations. They were developed at Forest-level in cooperation with key fire and fuels management interagency cooperators to consider opportunities to manage fire and fuels with consideration of key topographic and engineered features that help to anchor and bolster management on the ground. Polygons do not reflect administrative boundaries in some cases when topographic or engineered features serve as better management boundaries. Boundaries are dynamic based on changing conditions and future lessons learned as fire and fuels management conditions change. This dataset serves as the authoritiative source of data for the Forests aggregated at the Regional level, reflecting Forest-level decisions. All other versions of this data serve as copies of this source. For more information refer to: https://www.fs.usda.gov/research/rmrs/projects/pods

This communicates a shared stewardship that crosses jurisdictional, administrative and land ownership boundaries to better reflect the expected fire behavior and opportortunities for cooperative management efforts. Development of these polygons is at the Forest-level with the support of interagency workshops supported by Colorado Forest Restoration Institute, then aggregated into one dataset at the Regional scale to employ a cohesive strategy up to the national scale.
