Data Type: Dynamic. Vintage: Current. Regional Transportation District boundaries rarely change; however, slight modifications to the representation of such may occur due to general ASP editing of BaseLine features. Such editing generally occurs on a daily to weekly basis.RTD (Regional Transportation District) is the public transit provider for the six-county district of the metropolitan Denver area. Fee-based transportation services include bus, light rail, and skyride as well as free park-and-ride (PnR) locations.Along with all core jurisdictional data pertinent to elections, RTD is maintained in the AddressStreetPolitical (ASP) production database by IT Services via the ASP Tools. Source data is the BasePoly feature class, a subset of all BaseLine geometry which closes upon itself to form polygonal data to which jurisdictional attributes are attached. BasePoly is an atomic-level polygonal feature class coincident with BaseLine features due to topology rules in place in the ASP database. By atomic, we mean each polygon feature carries the core political data (county precinct {with federal house, state house and state senate districts embedded within}, city code {municipal status}, city ward, city precinct, commissioner district, regional transportation district {RTD}, traffic impact fee area {TIFA}, south jeffco local improvement district) used by the Elections Office in the determination of ballot styles. Whenever editing to BaseLine geometry occurs or whenever BasePoly atttribution is edited, BasePoly is dissolved for each core political component (column) by the ASP DERIVATIVE processing. In this case, a "RegionalTransportationDistrict" feature class results from a dissolve of basePoly's RTD column. All derivatives, like RegionalTransportationDistrict, are then re-freshed in SDEWHP by the ASP To Warehouse (ASP2WH) processing.RTD is a component of the data utilized by IT Services, via the SCORE Split and SCORE Comparative processes, to help the Elections Office maintain County data in the State of Colorado Registration and Elections (SCORE) system. Because this data is part of the "split" (ballot style) employed by Jefferson County, and because it is maintained in BasePoly expressly for addressing purposes relative elections, this derivative data will well approximate official RTD boundaries when zoomed to small scales but may differentiate somewhat at larger scales. Data is in State Plane Grid Coordinates, Colorado Central Zone, NAD83. |
