Description: Suggested Usable Trail RoutesWe have identified, built, and are committed to maintaining these routes as Usable within our trail system. These trails are a mix of natural surface but primarily compacted aggregate. As with any trail, conditions vary and can change with weather and maintenance. Please use caution or call ahead for current information. Jeffco Open Space Usable Trails and RoutesJCOS developed a working group to improve usability, increase public awareness, and allow for outdoors for all. "Usable Trails" remove barriers, such as rocks or steep slopes, and increases width or smooth surface area so they can be enjoyed by those on a mobility device. JCOS is committed to expanding our Usable Trails by identifying existing trails that can be modified, continuing trail maintenance where needed, organizing on-going volunteer projects, and working with the community of people experiencing disabilities to enhance their outdoor adventures. What are Usable Trails ?Usable trails are those that don’t meet ADA requirements, but through the consultation and collaboration of people with disabilities, have been constructed or modified to accommodate continuously evolving adaptive devices. Like any trail, Usable Trails vary in their technical difficulty and skill level requirement. Those interested in learning more can make their own judgment about difficulty, ability, and device capabilities based on trail parameters.*Trail conditions vary with weather, season, etc. For more information, visit: https://www.jeffco.us/4845/TrailsData Type: LineSensitive: NoSource of Origin: JCOSCreation Means: JCOS creates and maintains trail data through a combination of GPS data collection, heads-up digitizing, and a combination of the two methods.Original Projection: NAD_1983_StatePlane_Colorado_Central_FIPS_0502_Feet (WKID: 2232)
