Description: These data represent the land boundaries affiliated with JCPOS. They are intended for public use for viewing in web applications and is available for download for various GIS uses.These features represent the boundaries of land that JCPOS owns or manages. In some cases, JCPOS parks are comprised of several parcels that have different ownership/management, but are considered part of a larger park. For example, South Table Mountain Park (STM) contains parcels owned by JCPOS, the state, and has agreements with other entities. This is important to know if attempting to calculate acreage for a park. One must use ALL parcels of a respective park to calculate total acreage.Land Preservation Type: These are internal distinctions that help JCPOS quickly determine ownership status. However, these distinctions are consolidated from a broader list in order to more easily display them on maps.
