The Subsidence Layer is one part of the Geologic Hazard Zoning Overlay District. Other separate GIS Layers that are part of the Geologic Hazard Zoning Overlay District are: Landslide , Rockfall, and Slope Failure Complex . There is an attribute named ZONED with type YES/NO indicating the disposition of each feature in the respective data layer. The features that are not zoned are administered as Geologic Constraints. A definition query can be set in ones’ GIS application to display the information from various viewpoints.

HISTORY

The Geologic Hazard Zoning Overlay District of which the The Subsidence Layer is part was established by the Board of County Commissioners by Resolution CC82-691, dated September 7, 1982, recorded at Book 2865, Page 579, Reception Number 82063167 under zoning case number Z82-22. Also, Case Z85-3 modified the Geologic Hazard Zoning Overlay District on July 1, 1985 by the BCC and is recorded at reception number 85063980. The map data for these two cases was compiled from studies conducted by engineering consulting firms. The course data can be found in the record documents.

REFERENCES

Various Engineering and Geologic reports from Consulting Firms were used to develop this zoning overlay and geologic constraints for subsidence.
